Overview
The Vietnam eVisa is an electronic travel authorization introduced by the Vietnamese government, allowing eligible foreign nationals to apply for and receive their visa entirely online—before arriving in Vietnam.
It is available as a single-entry or multiple-entry visa, valid for stays of up to 90 days, and can be used for tourism, business, or transit purposes.
You can easily complete the application through our website. Once approved, your eVisa will be emailed to you as a PDF document, ready to print and present upon arrival.
Entry with an eVisa is supported at 13 airports, 16 land border crossings, and 13 seaports, giving you flexible travel options across Vietnam.
Holders of ordinary passports of the following countries may enter Vietnam without a visa (including all ASEAN member states).
Electronic visas can only be used for entry and exit through border gates that are on the list approved by the Government of Vietnam.
Transit passengers arriving by air in Vietnam at either Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City airports, and continuing on to a third country within 24 hours—while remaining in the transit area and simply changing planes—are not required to obtain an eVisa. It is important that the connecting flight is included on the same ticket, and the baggage should be checked through to the final destination.
You no longer need to send your original passport. A clear scan or photo of the main passport page (showing your personal information and photo) is sufficient for the Vietnam eVisa application.
Please ensure that the entire page is visible, including the machine-readable strip at the bottom — no parts should be cropped out, as shown in the example below:

Once your Vietnam eVisa is approved, it will be sent to you by email.
Please print out the eVisa and carry it with you when you travel.
It normally takes 5 working days for the Vietnam Immigration Department to process your application for Vietnam e-visa.
However, the processing time may be longer due to the large number of applicants or public holidays. As such, we highly recommend you to start your application for e-visa to Vietnam approx. 2 weeks before departure.
