Are you considering a trip to Singapore? If you’re wondering whether a visa is necessary, the answer is no for certain passport holders. Citizens from Australia, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union do not need to apply for a visa. Travelers from other countries are required to apply for a visa to enter Singapore.
However, all travelers are required to complete an online health declaration, known as the SG Arrival Card, no earlier than 3 days prior to their entry. Please note that the day of entry is included in this timeframe.
If a visa is necessary, it may be applied for no earlier than 30 days and no later than 10 days prior to the intended date of entry.
If your travel document is issued by one of the countries/ places listed below, you will require a valid visa to enter Singapore.
All travellers are required to submit the SG Arrival Card with Electronic Health Declaration before arriving in Singapore, except:
You are required to submit the SGAC within three (3) days (including the day of arrival) before arrival in Singapore.* This is to avoid unnecessary delays during immigration clearance upon your arrival.
*For example, if you are arriving in Singapore on 30 Jun 2025, you can submit your declaration from 28 Jun 2025 onwards.
Please note: The SG Arrival Card is not a visa.
No, the original passport is not required. The Embassy of Singapore issues an electronic visa in a PDF format which will contain a unique identification number. The visa stays in the system of the Singapore Immigration and will appear automatically on the passport control officer’s screen; it also can be printed out and presented to the immigration officer together with an online Singapore Arrival Card at passport control.
You might be asked to produce a return ticket. Even those who do not require a visa to enter Singapore are often asked to produce a return ticket when checking in on a flight.
