To travel to Tanzania, obtaining a visa is essential, and the electronic visa (eVisa) is the most convenient option for travelers. A Tanzanian eVisa permits entry into the country through designated airports or land crossings and allows for a stay of up to 30 days. Travelers may exit through any airport, land border crossing, or seaport.

The eVisa functions as a travel document that contains your personal and travel information, which must be printed and presented at immigration upon arrival. The application process is entirely online, eliminating the need to submit any documentation to the embassy.

Starting from October 1, 2024, all visitors to Zanzibar (excluding residents with a Tanzanian residence permit) are required to purchase mandatory travel insurance through the Zanzibar Insurance Corporation (ZIC) for the duration of their stay, which can be up to 90 days.
