Travelling for less than 30 days?

Until 31 December 2026, Swiss citizens (and citizens of over 40 other countries) can visit China without a visa — for tourism, business, or visiting family and friends. Details in the FAQ below, or contact us and we will check your case for you, free of charge.

Overview

China Tourist Visa (L Visa) — When It Is Required
You need a China Tourist Visa (L Visa) if your stay is longer than 30 days, if your nationality is not visa-exempt, or if you are travelling with a temporary passport. Not sure which case applies to you? Contact us — we will check it for you, free of charge.

Convenient Application by Post — From Anywhere in Switzerland
For single and double-entry visas, no fingerprints are required until 31 December 2026. Simply send us your documents, no personal visit to the China Visa Application Centre in Zurich or Bern is needed. Only multiple entry visas still require a short appointment, which we prepare for you.

Digital Arrival Card — Mandatory for Every Traveller
From 3 December 2025 onwards, all travellers must complete a digital Arrival Card before entering China, including those travelling visa-free. We are happy to offer an additional service where we complete your Arrival Card correctly and on time, so all you have to do is show the QR code at border control. Contact us to order this service, even if you don’t require a visa.
